Sept 27
Pumba playing with a cup in a Casper, Wyoming hotel.
She and Kelly are just like kids. We enjoy their companies very much.
I downloaded most of the pictures into our laptop from our camera and emailed some of them to my family and friends.
Kelly was getting tired of the long trip but was a good traveler. She was riding in a moving truck with Dick and Pumba with me in our Exploerer. She was sleeping in some areas and in an open crate on a passenger seat when I was driving.
I didn't take some pictures of the towns we passed through because we were in a little hurry getting into Texas since Dick's son Jeff made an arrangement with the movers to meet with us at the apartment the day after we arrived in Plano, Texas to unload the truck.
I was sooo excited when we went thru Cheyenne, Wyoming going toward Denver.
Pumba loves to play and sleep in boxes. She jumped into it when I took out my camera , printer and equipments to load pictures into our laptop in a Denver hotel.
We met with Dick's cousin Ken and his wife Jeanette who live in Thornton near Denver at the hotel and went out to eat together. We talked for hours by writing notes. When returning to the hotel, Jeanette found Pumba laying in a bathroom sink and fell in love with her. Ken was surprised to see my snowboard next to our suitcases.
Sept 29
Going east in Kansas toward Salina. We stopped there to sleeeeep. The night after sleeping in a motel, we found out we had run out of our socks and had to stop by the store to get some more after breakfast before heading for Oklahoma. The weather started to get warmer when we went south.
Kelly and Pumba in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma Sept 30
Finally arrived in Plano, Texas!
We went to the apartment manager's office to sign the papers. I had Pumba in a crate with us because its too hot to leave her in our SUV and Jeff's friend kept Kelly outside. We were told later that Kelly was crying and looking for us when we were in the office. Poor baby!
We took some stuff into our apartment from our Explorer except suitcases.
After dinner at Tino Too mexican resturant with Jeff and his friend, we went with Kelly and Pumba to the hotel to sleep afterward.
Oct 2nd,
We got back to our apartment, unloaded our new Ford Focus from the trailer and collected stuff from our car.
The 3 movers came to our apartment the next day to help us unload the truck and we were in home sweet home. The garage was almost full since we had a one bedroom apartment with no basement. We returned the truck and trailer to the U-HAUL store the next day before going to Lowes to purchse a new washer and dryer. (I gave my old ones to a Russian friend from work and we sold our dining set, china hutch and refrigerator (too heavy for moving) and had 3 weekends of garage sales before we left North Idaho). We had used a card table and office chairs in a dining room for several months before we bought a new dining set and china hutch with our tax return.
