Have you notice that your grocery bags were getting lighter? I had noticed that the new designed Tropicana orange juice pitcher was 8 oz less than the older one pictured at left. I had suspected it had been reduced when I found out that it was announced that they were making some new design so I decided to save the empty old pictcher so I was able to compare it with a new one. The older one was 94 oz and new one is 86 oz. They both are the same price. The the boxes of Kellogg's Frosted Mini-Wheat cereal is 6 oz lighter than older boxes as well as other cereal were put 2.4 oz less in each box. Also the sheets of paper and toilet papers have been reduced like 90 to 84.
Not only are gorcery prices rising, some ice creams, soaps, mararine and other products have been slimmed down, as food maunfractors look for alternatives to raising prices to offset their own rising costs. I think it's deceitful.
Some observers says cosumers are less likely to notice a packaging change than a price increase.
What do you think?
