YouTube - kitchen oil fire

Do not throw water onto a flaming pot or it will make the fire worse like the shown "youtube" kitchen oil fire video clip below. Got it from the commenter in one of my favorite deaf blog http://www.seekgeo.com/?p=302 posting of the TV's "Hell's Kitchen". The blond female cook was carrying a flaming pot around which she was NOT supposed to. What a crazy woman! The chef was boiling MAD at her.

I was so glad I used my common sense one day in 1986 when I saw a flaming pan on the stove and the box of baby cereal on the shelf above the stove caught the fire making it fall off after I changed my youngest son's diaper when he was a baby. I grabbed the bath size towel, covered the fire with it and shook it till it was gone. Boy, the ashes were all over the house including the baby crib. I had to have the firemen stop by my house to check it and put the fans on the windows sills to get the smoke out. The kitchen floor had been ruined. We spent the night at a friend's house. The home insurance agent came the next day to look at it and he got my house cleaned, painted and floor replaced. I washed the 2 pairs of kitchen window curtains (machine washableon the labels) and found them badly torn so when my dad found out about them, he called and talked with the agent about them. We received a fat check in the mail and had the bathroom floor replaced instead at the same time as the kitchen floor was replaced. The house was in the market at that time and we had to put it on hold for a few days till the cleaning and repair were done.
