We were not in a hurry to replace the license plates for about 3-4 weeks after moving to Texas from North Idaho because we were not anxious to take the driving tests to get our new driver licenses. We had taken the Idaho driving tests to replace our old Washington licenses 2 years before we left Idaho. We finally decided to replace the plates right away when we found out that both of our cars each had a flat tire at same time and realized that the people here were afraid of Idahoan since the Superacist/Neo-nazi group had set up their camp (they're gone for good before we left) in North Idaho about an hour and half north from Post Falls where we lived.
When we picked up the new Texas plates at the Tax Assessor Collectors office, the clerk said that we didn't have to take the tests when we surrendered our Idaho liceneses so we went to Dept of License the next day and received our new licenses without taking the tests. I didn't have more gray hair. The clerk said that she found Dick's old Texas license in a computer and got it replaced.
When we received the plates, the clerk gave us the windshield stickers much larger than the previous Idaho stickers which we placed on the Idaho plates instead of the windshield . I thought the large stickers on the windshields were going to be the eye sore when I was driving but I had forgotten about them.
The bottom sticker was given when the annual emission test had been passed.
